The teachers for Class 5DW are Miss Dearden (Mon/Tues/Wed) and Mrs Wood (Thurs, Fri). Mrs Pritchett will be teaching on Thurdays and Fridays while Mrs Wood is on maternity leave - Autumn Term.
We have Games on a Monday afternoon, and PE on a Thursday morning. Please ensure that children have their correct kits in for these days - and make sure that they are labelled.

In Literacy we read COOL! by Michaels Morpurgo. Nearly all of 5DW enjoyed the book, and wrote some Cool! book reviews...
Title of book:Cool Author:Michael Morpurgo The book is about: A boy who gets run over. He gets stuck in a coma. He goes to the hospital and his mum and dad try to wake him up. Even his favourite football champion comes to wake him up. My favourite part of the book and why: When Lucky licks Robby and I can't tell you the rest! My favourite character and why: Lucky because he saves the day. Favourite Character and why: Ellie, because she just thinks that Robbie’s asleep [Well he is] but she can easily make a joke out of everything. She also sounds like a lot of fun and I would love her to jump out of the book and be friends with me. Favourite Part: When Ellie gives Robbie her favourite teddy,[ although she can't sleep without her teddy Pongo] She gives it to Robbie because she thinks it will bring Robbie good luck. He is in a coma. Everyone tries to wake Robbie up, then one day , Dad sneaks Robbie's dog, Lucky into hospital. Can Lucky wake Robbie up? My favourite part and why: My favourite part of the book is when dad says someone special is coming to see him. I thought it was Lucky, but it was actually Robbie's hero, Zola.
